One of the most influential of the current breed of natural wine makers is Stanko Radikon from Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy’s far north east on the border of Austria and Slovenia. His wines are fermented for many months and absolutely free from added sulphur, these white wines are orange in colour and will challenge your senses. That’s just the sort of wines that natural winemakers here in Australia love to make too; challenging & different.
Tasting Notes:The name is a backwards play on Tocai (tokaj), which is no longer allowed to be used in Italy and is now generally marketed as Friulano. Lovely, fresh and well balanced with notes of stone fruit and almonds.
